I am not sure what is the fuss with the price increase here. Earlier, 1 USD was around 105 PKR. V2 price was 1069000/- PKR which translates to $10180 roughly. Now, 1 USD is around 110 PKR. The price of V2 in USD is $10108, which is a reduction of roughly $70, instead of the increase. The Pakistani currency is not stable, it's not about AHFM. This Dollar price increase was pending since 2016, when IMF reported Pakistani currency to be 20% overvalued. It was bound to have a hit on the consumers. It is happening everywhere.
And I am amazed at the comments regarding comparisons with PakSuzuki. PakSuzuki is still selling a Euro II spec 1989 model Kei car for ~$7000, which does not even have a booster brake. Here you are getting a 1.3 liter Euro IV spec compact hatchback with Airbags, ABS, power mirrors and windows for $10000 and we are all like "loot lia" and stuff. PakSuzuki was already charging too much for their cars, hence they could afford to raise prices by a lesser margin. The car which costs ~$8000 in India is being sold here for ~$14000 by PakSuzuki, and that too after stripping some features.
FAW has priced V2 a little higher than the international markets, but that difference is negligible since there are a lot of factors involved in different markets. However, it cannot be compared to the pricing strategy of PakSuzuki at all, which has been making a fool out of the nation for the past 3 decades.
