Don't forget that some Chinese people helped your people build a fighter for cheap. No doubt it is a fact that the "maal" that gave grace to your country and might potentially save your ass from a drubbing at the hands of your sworn enemy was developed with their help. I do not wish to discuss how it would do in war but wish to state that it is in fact what keeps the dreaded war away!!. These people are vital to our very existence as a free nation, so I respect them and you should too!. So I would buy a shit box from them for 11 lac and spend money on fixing it rather than buying it from susu-zuki and fixing it!, you don't put up a strong argument as either way i'll be spending money to fix it. grow up and learn to appreciate.

You do know that majority of the manufacturing in the world takes place in China, including iPhones, don't you? FAW, as mentioned many times earlier, is also manufacturing Audi vehicles in China. But of course, Audi is also China maal. Let's not buy that and keep buying Mehran, the car from the next generation, with state of the art build quality and futuristic features. Or the Wagon R, which leaks oil straight from the factory and gets rusted in a year.

Let's keep the status quo intact! Because that is what has taken us to this place.

So you think that Kia, Hyundai, Proton and Cherry failed due to their pricing and products.... If you think so then you are totally wrong...

Hyundai failed due to the local partner’s bankruptcy
Kia failed both times due to their local partner’s bankruptcy
Proton failked because due to the local partner’s limited financial strength and no Dealership Network and no local assembly plants.
Cherry also failed because of the same reasons as of Proton.

As far as FAW is concerned, they have a local assembly plant, Dealership Network and a 100% equity based financial setup. Their chances of survival and going a long way are greater than all the previously shut down companies.

As far as introducing a discontinued product is concerned why are we only blaming FAW for it. Suzuki’s every single product on which PakSuzuki is surviving are obsolete models since more than decades including Ravi, Bolan, Mehran. They got the old Wagon R model in Pakistan since day one and see where the price went when they introduced Celerio aka Cultus.... 1.5 Million... which is more expensice then their own 1.3 liter A/T Swift with Navigation ...

Honda City is benig sold here since last 10 years and has been discontinued long ago all over the world and same goes with all the Japanese Heavy Truck companies including Hino, Nissan and Isuzu.... all make old obsolete models for Pakistan and you will not find these models anywhere in the world beind manufactured.

Coming back to the topic.... This thread is for V2 users .... anyone who thinks that V2 is not a good product especially when he/she doesn’t even own one.... doesn’t and must not have the right to insult, ridicule the product keeping in mind that most of the V2 users are quite happy with their decision.

The fingerprint sensor, the battery and the main chassis assembly is built exclusively in China. The assembly plant is in China. Rest of the parts are made all around the world, apart from China. Does that negate the point that China is the current manufacturing hub of the world? It's not only about chanting the name of China, it is based on facts.

And as for quality, what quality issue do you see in V2 that is not in other local manufactured cars of the same class? It is a perfectly sturdy car that can take quite a hit as compared to PakSuzuki offerings. I have not seen anyone claim rust issues or faulty valve seals issues from V2 users. People here have a tendency to become overly critical of any new automobile company and some are even on paid propaganda campaigns against any newcomers to help the big 3 keep their market share. This has happened with many cars in the past. It is happening now. It is a mindset here.

My friend is selling his Lancer, and someone came with (old) Cultus to exchange it with. Now there is no comparison between a Lancer and a Cultus in any way, but they have apparently the same resale value. This is how our market works. A 10 year old car with any kind of paint quality will have it's paint faded in Pakistan, but people would prefer genuine paint because that is how our market works. While the world is advancing in emissions control, we here remove the catalytic converters because they reduce the pickup of the car. It is so stupid it is painful, the way our market works. V2 has comparatively gained quite a lot of market share in such harsh conditions. I would call it a success. And as for your comment regarding failing to localize, well, localization is not a child's play that will happen overnight. It takes time, you have to build a supply chain and find reliable suppliers, which again, in our market is not a very easy task given the amount of fraud we have here.

This is what i am reading in another thread of wagon r. Uploading... Quality control issues are everywhere so you can't blame only FAW for it. Overall V2 is a great package.

Here's an idea of how well FAW v2 is doing. I have a high vantage point for Imtiaz Superstore DHA. I could count at least 3 FAW v2s parked in their lot alone.

Big difference is manual and auto transmission, although I, myself is not a big fan of jap boxes. People prefer auto transmission for daily commutes.

I second adnanniazi, Auto is putting this car off, secondly it would have done a lot better if it could be priced 100k lesser with a 1000cc engine

Completely agreed..... and those who pay a highly unjustified price for Second Hand Car small cars just for an Automatic Transmission are infact helpless bcz they have no other option in brand new category, and might be this is the only reason Shitzuki introduced automatic Cultus in such a high price when no other new small car comes in brand new condition....

A 1000cc engine would have been underpowered, like the Vitz. And people would have said that it's underpowered because it's Chinese and would not have bought it. The ones who want to buy it would buy it no matter what. The ones who don't want to buy, would find a reason not to buy.

BTW FAW N5 is a sedan that was offered in China with both 1.0L CA3GA2 engine and the 1.3L CA4GA1 engine found in V2. I wonder if the CA3GA2 can be fit into V2 with a little modification. It produces 64hp, 3 hp less than the Wagon R. Would work for our nation who is already accustomed to underpowered engines.

Automatic (or AMT), however, will be a good addition. Since the Cultus is being offered with AMT, I think FAW should launch one too. I read on CarSpirit.pk that they might launch the AMT this year. Fingers crossed for that. I might even buy one for myself if they do, selling my current one.

but FAW CEO once said they will launch 1000cc V2 in 2017 but they never did. So dont trust everything FAW says

FAW is not saying that they are launching AMT. CarSpirit.pk is saying. AHFM is saying that they can't say anything about AMT yet.
