guyz from more than 1 week i,am seeing the fiat uno same shape unregistered or recent registration in khi city. and they are many in my area. the engine noise has been reduced. it doesnt looks diesel if the uno is standing beside you. no black smoke of diesel. can any 1 have info abt uno? has they converted to petrol or diesel engine is change?
i think they r the left overs... the vespa (raja group) supposedly finally realized that it was a bad decision to bring uno here
well...i think it wasnt the bad decision if u consider the time at when the decision made, at tht time...cng wasnt popular,car import wasnt allowed n it was only diesel in demand n cherade diesel was the only choice.
buddy they brought uno here when it was all over globally..
point is .. india brought a better shape wise vehicle with the same engine....
why didn't the vespa dudes thought like that...
inside story is that the Raja group were paid by the jap Auto manufactures to bring and finally fail the UNO in pakistan so to discourage rest of the European manufactures to introduce new models here.This is quite evident from the sale and service of raja group
UNO is still available at least in Islamabad at the dealership. Same diesel version.

In 80s, Uno was the best seller in europe, and that was UNO petrol, Uno 70, Uno 75 etc, it was powered by FIRE engine ( Fully Integrated Robotised Engine) self tuning. but raja sahib bought the obselete plant taghay tokrian to fool pakistanis..and they did it for a while. but now ...awaam samajhdar hai. In europe UNO came in petrol then diesel..its 80s technology.
There is nothing new that raja sahab did, many other assemblers are doing the same to Pakistanis

I 2nd to spectra & will like to add some more names which are from 80s but still being produced,in pakistan including Ravi, bolan Potohar, & beloved Cultus. BTW the Uno's model offered here in Pakistan is from early 90s & known as Uno II. Technicaly the car wasnt bad but the main reason for Uno to get flop in market was the poor after sales & customer services of Raja Motor Co. & the 2ndly its Deisel engine as in that time the Pakistan Auto market was converging to CNG fuel & after that era even Corolla Diesel lost its market so how can a new brand could servive.

I am a UNO fan. Anything that is done in favor of the UNO is appreciated. Even though it was locally made, it is far far better than the Suzukis.
i like its shape & the quality. the car is like a rock. bhoot mazboot hai uno. & looks r also kool!!!!!!
The qulity atributes tha UNO had were never apprciated very much. Maybe our market wanted something else.
Otherwise its space and practicality is remarkable and apart from engine no major problems were reported. Engine issues have more to do with our mechanics and their competence levels which has created bad name for it.
Its still available for sale and some institutional buying is taking place at least in Islamabad.
