Well, i read somewhere that he wasnt happy with how Nigel Stepney was treated at Ferrari.
I personally think it was time to move on for him. He formed a great bond with Schumacher and along with Rorey Byrne, who i think is the unsung hero of all the success, made a great team. By staying at Ferrari the only thing Ross Brawn could achieve was losing as he had tasted all the success one could imagine during the schumacher golden era. It was time to find a new challenge.
I am not going to be very popular for saying this but i personally dont see Ferrari or for that matter any team having the same domination that we saw in the last 6-7 years. If you look at this year, Ferrari did not win the drivers world title, rather Mclaren lost it. Ferrari did not win the constructors title , that was decided by the FIA, and for all the right reasons. Mclaren did deserve the punishment they got. In the years to come I dont see Ferrari anywhere near to what they were. Neither is Kimi Raikkonen or Felipe Massa another Schumacher. Raikkonen is very fast but equally eratic and will make silly mistakes during the course of a season, and another team will not be as stupid as Mclaren to let them walk away with titles year after year.
Ross Brawn has found himself a new Challenge. He has lived in Schumachers shadow for long. I guess he felt it was time he went and proved his genius some place else and what better place to go than Honda, who despite a long histroy of racing has struggled ever since it
s return. What better way to prove himself if he can turn that team around.
