hi fellowsmy querry is about honda civic exi prosmatic model 2005 that i own,its giving me 8 to 9 in local without ac these days and on highway and motorway it gives above 10 km/L,i have shown it to mechanics they are saying petro burns fine spark plugs are clean and efi scanning is not showing any issues,i just want to know that is this normal for this car and if not what can be done to increase the millage, also guide me about some reputed workshops in pindi islamabad area, prompt replies will be appreciated?
Sir I think its very normal average for civic.I have lancer 1991. Its 1300cc and giving 11km/L in the city without A/C these days. I have not checked on motor way yet.But civic is 1600 or 1800 cc car. so I think your average is just normal.By the way, you can try to feed it fully synthetic oils like 5w-30 or 5w-40. These are bit expensive oils, but these are very good indeed and increase the mileage too.
Thanks for the advice @tintin 1 brother but my exi is 1453 cc and im using fully synthetic oil 5w-30,if its normal for the car than i guess i have to sell it....
sir I guess you must be feeding Honda's synthetic oils 5w-30.if yes, then its time to change the oil company. Try Liqui moly, Mobil1, Micking, FUCHS'sor you can try the superior oils like zic xq, zic ow, shell ultra, total quartz 9000, etc.
Your car should give you around 10 with ac in city driving; get original filters (air & oil), get throttle body serviced as well & see if there's a difference
How often did you get its afr adjusted?
@tintin 1 bro i will switch to liqui moli on your advice and see what happens..thanks @zainmahdi i really dont know what is afr??relly need your help on this
Air/fuel mixture ratio. Ideally, the engine should be using 14.7 parts of air for every part of fuel (14.7:1).
Cars with O2 sensors never need adjustment. Old local cars do not have O2 sensors; they have a trim pot. They need regular adjustment after 50,000 km or so.
going to do just that bro asap......thanks for the info
