As I said brother, these days you are just agreeing to be disagree in most of the posts.
However, I'll respectfully disagree with your comments sir.
Because if oil filter is not removed, then that oil (which you've particularly mentioned with number of impurities) will circulate again in the engine within the fractions of the minute. No? So putting that oil back in the engine is perfectly safe because after the oil filter is changed to new, it will start oil filtrations instantly.

As far as the impurities, suspended particles, etc. are concern, these remainly stick "inside the filter paper" and doesn't go back inside the engine unless the filter is chocked.
According the process, the oil from engine comes directly in the centre of the oil filter through the pipe with pressure. Inside filter the oil is pushed towards the filter walls by passing through the filter paper and then it goes back into the Engine.

But yes, you may be right also, but in that case when owner misses to change the oil on-time and oil start making slugs in the engine because of overdue. In that case, even oil filter will be fail to perform.

The oil filter flow is always out to in not in to out as you post. The filter will never work from in to out as there is very little filter paper surface area in the centre tube When its placed on the engine the two sections of clean and dirty remain separate. When you undo the filter and drain it out everything starts to come out from all points of the filter and there is no way of stopping it from mixing. As long as the filter remains on the engine its ok as the oil circuit is one way only and is under pressure when engine is running and is blocked by the drain back
Valve when stopped.

Hence never ever reuse the nasty oil from the filter. Just buy half a litre of any mineral oil and pour it in. But then for some very odd reason you are recommending long interval in these tiny sump engines. Its a sure recipe of failure.

Its quite odd you think of lm oils over shell helix ultra which is a group 4 synthetic with a long list of performance approvals too.

nopes - oil filter change at 5000 and oil at 7000 is OK for your car on that oil, try using a 5w30 oil for best fuel economy.

Isn't it a headache to change only the oil filter at 5000 Km and put the old oil back, then after 2000 Km change the oil again. Then after 3000 Km change the oil filter . . .
To avoid this I change the oil and oil filter both at 5000 Km. I use the same Havoline Synthetic 5W-40 with genuine Honda filter in my Honda City 2011.

when using a synthetic oil, its economically not feasible to change the oil at 5000 kms, infact your engine is not even specced for it, its very easy on its engine oil. So unless you have money to burn dont change the oil out so prematurely. Which then opens up another problem avenue, small sump engines with small general paper filters are not very reliable on such oils because the oil itself maybe good chemically (as in the add pack has just burned off the detergents in it - and actually started to use the added minerals which help the engine) but the oil itself may become abrasive as the filter media is not efficient and the entire oil hold is pretty low volume.

And whats the hassle in changing the filter, it takes 2 minutes to undo and install a fresh one and top up with some generic mineral engine oil - a little mixing up doesnt matter.

As per Honda manual, their oil filter should be changed at 10,000 Km and their oil be changed at 5000 Km. But I am not using their oil, instead using Caltex Havoline fully Synthetic with Honda Filter. So I think it is safe to change oil and oil filter both at 7000 Km.

Alhamdulillah am happy with my car, it revs down quickly on startup with the Shell Ultra, new dunlop veuro 205-65 are veryyyyyy quiet and slightly taller so even big speed breakers are easy, now only need to change ATF as ODO is 60k. I work at II Chundrigar and even with constant traffic jams the car is giving 10.5km/L in city with AC on all time.

But the current ATF looks the same color as new ATF so shud be changed or left for 10-15k kms more?

Only if we are sure of getting the real stuff from Shell stockists. That is my reason for using LM and MObil. At least i know i am getting the real thing. Any popular brand has a disease of 2 number oil.
