Altis 2011 1.8 auto, 60k on ODO

If not using Mineral oil before, especially 20/50 and engine is in good health also, then feeding 5/40 would be perferct choice for the best results.
The price range for 5/40 oil is from Rs. 3000/4L ~ 5000/4L depending upon your choice of oil company & budget.

nopes - oil filter change at 5000 and oil at 7000 is OK for your car on that oil, try using a 5w30 oil for best fuel economy.

If 5/30 is fully synthetic oil. right?
Presently the availability of fully synthetic oil in 5/30 is bit rare. I guess, only in Total. Not yet available in imported oils.
In Pak. since last few months, the more popular oil is 5/40 in fully synthetic (local, as well as imported) and its giving excellent results.

Assalamo alaikum guys. If you remember I put Shell Ultra E in my Altis December last year with 60k on ODO, and yesterday as I was checking my car fluids after loooong time I saw that oil was a little below the full point, hmmmm, now 69k on ODO so need to quickly change oil again as the additives seem to have depleted/burned.

I know brother Goodman7 will be furious as he had specifically said to change filter at 5k interval, bit I forgot and now 6 months and 9k kms later I will inshaAllah change oil and let you all know how it goes.

I am going for Shell Ultra E again as I am pretty satisfied.

Only if we are sure of getting the real stuff from Shell stockists. That is my reason for using LM and MObil. At least i know i am getting the real thing. Any popular brand has a disease of 2 number oil.

changing oil brands and experimenting with engine oil is a very stupid thing to do! this aint a deo ya roll on that a person can change from brand to brand!

Sound advice brothers, I know I pushed it this time but having worked in the lubricants industry waaaay back, I know that good oils can easily go 30% more than recommended drain interval. Oil companies generally play safe.

In my case the lubrication was not compromised, but all additives may have been used up so not a good idea to push oils so far.

Anyways I got oil and filter changed at Shell Clifton pump, they had Ultra E in 5w-40 which they said had recently been changed from 5w-30, but as I had used 5w-30 the last time I asked if they had any old stock which they found (July 2013 batch), so I got 5w-30 this time. Next time I will have to go for 5w-40 as Shell has changed specs for Ultra E, but no worries as Goodman7 also recommends 5w-40.

Took some pics but my cell is not connecting to the PC for some reason I dont know, so tomorrow inshaAllah.

@aamirq bro only one brand change, from Havoline synthetic to Shell synthetic, slight upgrade in SAE standards.

Used oil with filter, and new beautiful golden oil being poured in the engine.

The car felt quieter after the oil change, but idling was a bit jumpy at first and then settled down after some driving.
