and yes rapidshare works on cable modem and i use rapidshare frequently and it works fine.

and susman, in your area i think worldcall is giving broadband. Wateen wont be in your area, since its only available in dha lahore for now. But i am almost sure worldcall services are available in your area. They have the biggest network right now.
Call their customer service no and ask them.
Worldcall is the only possible bet for you.

and susman if cable still doesnt come in your area, try WOL DSL, they are giving some special offer , 900rs only .i dont know what download speed are they offering at 900 rs. Check their website for more details. It seems like a good deal.

wateen is only offering 256kbps connection not 512kbps ... check your wateen login page where you enter your username and password check there..its clearly written that it is 256kbps connection (DHA LAHORE) area

i heard cable net is not secure and one should never send credit data or other sensitive information thru it. since its not a direct link with internet. is that correct?

sd bhai, i have just checked. On my wateen window its written 512 kbps not 256 kbps.
I repeat mine says 512 kbps.

Dont know why you have 256kbps.

sd_sig, wateen is giving 512Kbps wireless dsl. Either you pay 18000 upfront for the whole year or pay in installments. Equipment costs included

sd as i already told, thats your wateen connection not mine. Mine says 512kbps whereas your says 256kbps.
Anyways it makes no difference, if you are happy with yours then there shouldnt be a problem.
I am happy with mine.

this year bond is not attracting me. They do charge 1800 or 1000 depending on your location extra above 18k
