Honda City 19- Vellfire android multimedia unit reviews

I'm looking to get a android unit installed in my 2019 Honda City. One unit I've seen quite often in shops here is the Vellfire 11" android unit. I got a quote of 18.5k for installation of the unit along with both front and back cameras.

Now before I get it installed, would appreciate if someone could share their experience with this particular unit and /or any other suggestions.
P.s. I live in Karachi so within city sourcing would be preferred

Make sure its a PX5/PX6 unit. They have good support on xdadevelopers.

Install CPU-Z app from google play store and check the specs of unit that whether specs are same as stated by them. Secondly go to developer options in setting>about device (if not shown, tap 5 times on Build Number in software info). In developer options, tap on running services, it will show actual Ram of unit. 70-80% units are being sold with fake specs.

Local market is full of SCAMS.
I went to buy a unit myself and right before installing the unit, i decided to check it.
I installed the CPU-Z app in the unit and whoa, it had 800MB ram and 8GB rom. (4GB used bu android system so only 4GB space).
While whole market was saying, it’s 2GB/16GB. Even the specs of the unit were saying 2Gb/16 Gb in the settings.
Local sellers really manipulate things technically now.
So the point is, you can imagine the level of fraud. I’m planning to import one now.

Though its a long roe to hoe but u can find one here rather than importing. Im using AVT Panel and its original 2GB, 16GB in 16k.

How can I check if it's PX5/PX6? And what sort of support is available on xda?

MCU & Firmware Updates, general troubleshooting etc.

As mentioned by other members, You will need to check the unit with CPU-Z. Good android units are pretty expensive even if you import directly from China. Some of the good brands include Pheonix, Daisaita & Joying as they are some what considered branded in this category.

Otherwise its just a hit or miss with these units.

Actually the fake specs come installed from China. I upgraded firmware on such a system basically reinstalled an update version from XDA. It still shows fake specs...

You can file a dispute over the charges if the specs are manipulated/tempered.
But you can do nothing if you’re buying from hall road or any other local shop.
