Honda City 2008 Vario Reducing Oil

I am using Vario/Auto and was using Shell 10w40, but now, oil is reucing 1 litre in 5,00 KM.
then I moved to Havoline 20w50, but, issue is same.

Mechanic suggest me to change its assembly, but, car's pick is good.

My issue is that, if i use 10w40 then oil mileage becomes 10-11 km per litre.
but, for 20w50, it gives 8-9 km per litre and no knocking issue.

Plz. advice .. Which Oil I will use ???????
I need good mileage too...

May I go to Zic 20w50 Synthetic ??

Also, If I will go to long route i.e. Karachi to Sukkur
then how to use this car ???

Did you check for any kind of leaks?whats the milage of car, 20w-50 will increase your fuel consumption does car give any kind of smoke from tailpipe? Changing the brand wont do anything and make sure you are getting genuine oil not counterfeit/fake

Of course, you will get good fuel economy on thin oil. Thick oil will definitely decrease fuel efficiency.

As far as your issues are concerned, I think, you car's engine has grown weak and there are also compression losses. My suggestion is to visit some good garage, and have complete inspection of your car's engine done (compression test being the most important, then check for any anomalies, etc.).

If engine has grown weak, then are is no option other than rebuild / overhaul or swap (my personal suggestion would be rebuild, but from some fine garage, and not some random, abc mechanic). But again, only complete inspection can guide best about the condition of engine, and its problems, and then remedial actions accordingly.

Brother these are totally different things and are contradicting with each other.

To me, it seems as if engine has grown weak, so thin oils, which may provide good fuel efficiency are out of question. Thin oils might get consumed very early.

Temporary solution is comparatively thick oil, which may fight reduction, but at the same time, will not provide good fuel efficiency.

You may try Caltex / Havoline 10w-30. If it does not suit, then try 10w-40 by ZIC. If it does not suit too, then only solution seems to me is rebuild / overhaul.
