Honda Civic Rebirth Suspension

I have honda civic rebirth manual
I am facing an issue with the suspension,recently all the suspension work has been completed but the problem is that when the car goes over potholes at speed or hit road irregularities at around 40-50 km/hr or drive on rough road ,it feels sound as is something underneath the car is about to come losse .it sounds like piece of metal is hitting or touching something underneath

The reason i had all the suspension work done was becuase car was pulling to the left side however after sometime the same problem comes back, even i have to keep holding the steering wheel to prevent it from going to left side

I have shown car to many mechanics and one of them actually made the suspenion worse while trying to fix it
i would appreciate it if someone from this forum could comment and advise me

which city are you from and what parts in suspension changed
also alignment done or not

i am from lahore

the parts which i changed includes complete shock (front both),Z links ,tie rod ends,ball joints,sterring was repair as there was play in it as far i remember
yes alignment was done and the issue with the wheel aignment, the car drives perfectly straight and stays centered on the road however after four to five days it again start pulling to the left again i cant understand why this keeps happening

Try, Sarwar Auto, opposite to UET Gate no.2
Diagnose the problem first, never start from replacing parts.

Atleast he listens to some extent.

Gen 8, 9 (yours) and 10 civics have oil filled engine mounts. It is a known fact that at about 70k to 90k these mounts collapse and engine/transmission may sag down enough to come into contact with body.

Agreed. The engine mounts degrade over time. With the utmost care they still are subjected to heat cycles and vibrations/stress transmitted via road bumps bear gear changes etc. So as I said 70k - 90k is a failure point on these generations of Civics. At 140k your car should be on its second set of engine mounts. Also another thing you might want to have a look at is the condition of the Catalytic converter. You car may have been used on that lousy fuel they sold in the beginning when they switched from 89 octane to 92 octane. Too many cars lost their cat cons. This can be seen by removing the o2 sensor before the cat and looking down the hole. Another thing sometimes over looked is the fuel filter that needs to be replaced every 40k, so your car should be on its 3rd filter.

Parts are serviced or replaced as part of regular maintenance. The problem is that I still haven't found anyone who truly understands a car's suspension. Most mechanics just guess instead of diagnosing it properly, and with an older car, that approach only works on and off.

I thought you issue has been resolved as per your post above.

But as we are still on the subject, my guess is that the noise is still present.

Of course engine mounts are different from suspension components. But any rattle from the bottom or from engine area resonates in the entire cabin and if a bit hard to identify. For suspension diagnosis car has to be raised on a four post lift so that suspension components are not under strain while inspection is done. 90% of suspension component is done visually. Also a large tommy bar is used to stress various rubber joints to see if there is play. It is not rocket science. Most road side mechanics lift car by floor jack one wheel at a time. This place the suspension under load and any play is no longer detectable.

The noise is gone, but when driving on uneven roads, I can still feel some play in the steering. I've had it checked, and the mechanic says everything is fine, but he can't figure out what's causing it. This happens quite often sometimes one mechanic just can't identify the problem.

Cant say what else to look at. You have already replaced everything I can think of. Have another look at the rack for play in the straight ahead position. What about the universal link right at the top of the rack (in the picture below it is referred to as the intermediate shaft) and what about the rack ends, those are the ball joints immediately next to the rack.
