The strategy by nishat is understandable. Its working or not. Thats another thing.......

But the strategy to inject ur low in demand sedans in the market is correct when the competition is giving timelines of 6months.

They know tucson is a high in demand product and it will be a seller. Hence they are throwing their low sales product in customers face for them to sell.

Elantra sales are major set back for new customers. There is rare sight if elantra.. no market demand. Everything else is selling well. Whats wrong . Not offering leather interior and 3rd class tyres add to the issue

Because its the most flop generation of Elantra in the entire world. The interior is quite old and basic. Exterior is also quite boring. And this car is priced more than Civic & Corolla which are established in this market. And its an old generation. So all in all its a FLOP model and it wont gain any momentum now. Maybe people will only buy this because its readily available.

I don't think the model is a flop by any means. It performs well as a taxi in the middle east and sells well in the US, and having personally observed the Elantra at a showroom, I was quite satisfied with the interior quality and especially the delivery times. Going by the owner reviews in Pakistan, I haven't yet heard from anyone who is unhappy with their purchase.

The main issue here is pricing. If Civic/Grande are.3.8m, this car had to be 3.5-3.6m and it would have sold in big volumes. Instead they came in with a HIGHER invoice price than both Civic and Grande which was complete nonsense. It is still a good car to buy, but the tradeoff is huge for people who only own one car and are looking for future resale. The only people buying it right now are those who already have a Civic/Grande and buying it as a second car.

That's very disappointing to hear. One of the main reasons I was considering Elantra (and an advantage over Grande/Civic) was the OEM infotainment that gives you seamless Android Auto/Apple Carplay experience, and good bluetooth calling quality. The rims can be Chinese but that doesn't matter as long as they are good quality and OEM branded (would have preferred 17 inch), but chinese infotainment units are terrible. They are ruining the car.

You are right but its an OLD GEN which they've just released 6 months back. Soon Corolla and Civic will be replaced so this car will be an ancient car. No one wants to lose their investment. Its a 4 Million car with nothing special and its Korean. In rest of the world they're taking market by giving good cars in less price than Japanese but in Pakistan they're showing themselves as some luxury brand lol.

It is still new gen for our market until we see 11th gen Civic and 12th gen Corolla, which I don't see happening before 2023 at the very least.

Everyone have their own choice and opinion but Elantra looks quite dated and OLD gen already. And the sales are speaking for themselves. Its a FLOP CAR in Pakistan atleast. No one cares if its a hit in Middle East but in Pakistani market its just another Liana.

Elantra was destined to be a failure.

Not the right price.

Should have offered it at 3 million to 3.4 million max.

It simply cannot beat Altis 1.6 . yeah it has more features but doesn't matter in the eyes of the public.

When you're competing against Toyota you gotta beat them in pricing massively.

Khair abhi its early to predict and its not at all comparable with 1.6 at all. Price is kind of OK, but so far marketing is not right

Yes, the same is in India. 7th is not yet available in RHD, so dates is not the right word. Only thing bad is the stupid marketing from hyundai

The moment Nishat priced a Korean car above the Japs, right there it was guaranteed to be a failure.

The existing rims and infotainment system are korean?

They must be making these changes after some sort of permission from Hyundai otherwise making such changes shouldn’t be allowed I believe.

Still atleast in the pictures the new rims don’t look too appealing (but better than the existing ones)plus the profile also looks a bit on the higher side. Seems like it’s written 55 on the tyre but doesn’t look like that maybe because of the not so appealing tires and rim design/finish.

Yes, both were korean. Nishat is doing this in the name of localization first general tyres, now rims and next will be Android unit.

Rims are no match to other sedans available in this category and having those from Chinese origin so quality will also be questionable.

Also can anyone confirm whether new rims are made in pakistan or China or Korea?
