i still think its too early to declare its a flop ride. i have seen 10-1 numbers of Kia in Egypt against any japanese may it be corolla or civic. and have heard similar situation in canada. in canada insight is more popular than civic. so it depends but and its a big but Elantra is by no means a flop car.

besides one or 2 very major points in favor of elantra as per my personal evaluation are lumber support, quad projection headlights and much much better insulation. and i have experienced it first hand.

m not saying corolla or civic are inferior but to me elantra is a competitor and it will surely INSHA ALLAH farewell in the market in times to come.

earlier i used to see 2 elantras per week now almost 3-4 every 2nd-3rd day in ISB/RWP. so i say it has started gaining traction.

They are somewhat successful in other market due to pricing in USA NEW Elantra starts at $19,500 and Civic Starts at $22,000 so almost 15% less than Civic with more features. In Pakistan they've launched with more price than Civic & Corolla with almost same features and OLDER Generation. Elantra fate has been decided. It will be another Liana, Ciaz and Sorento.

Even with lesser price and more features.. Elantra cant attract many customers in USA. Again every market is different.

same is the case with Sonata , way less than Accord and Camry statistically.

Sonata will capture the market here due to being priced competitively against competition. Infact it's quiet lesser than competition with comparably better features. And that is why people are shifting to sonata.
Sadly that is not the case with Elantra. The price they have set will kill this model. It will be another ciaz. In my opinion the max price for it should have been no more than 36 lac. And they should have introduced some introductory packages at launch for initial customers like some extra goodies or some free maintenances etc.

Saw black elantra with new wheels today. . Much more road presence and stance. And lights both front and back are next level.

It's a step on current corolla and civic. And it's not a biased openion.

I think Elantra looks really nice on the road. It has become a regular sight in white colour in twin cities. Not extremely common but regular.
It has a road presence. I think the old rims were an eye sore. Looked like cheap wheel cups but i think the new rims will give it a good outlook.

I checked the interior out in the shownroom and it felt really good.

I think there is a lot of negativity in this thread. There is no doubt that the car is overpriced for our market, and when you compete against Civic/Corolla people are rightly worried about resale. But you also have to evaluate the product and user experience individually. A 2.0L engine, quad LED headlights, smooth OEM infotainment with apply carplay and android auto, electric seat with lumbar support, these are all great features that add to everyday user experience. On top of that quick deliveries. Jis ne apnay istimal ke liye leni hai, it is a no brainer. With company warranty, no known faults, you can enjoy 5 years tension free.

Also it seems that the car has great fuel average. I follow the Facebook community and most are getting around 13 in city and 15+ on motorway. The community seems to be growing everyday. Ciaz situation was a little different as it was CBU, with CKD elantra at least aftersales support is guaranteed. So it all comes down to personal decision, Elantra is overpriced but the product is very good.

Does any of you have by any chance plan to shift to 17 inch wheels and tyres. I really do intend to change tyres from general as soon as I get the car IN SHA ALLAH

I dnt think k putting 17s on this car on pak roads is a good idea, as that size really put a lot of stress on the control arms. I have mostly seen this car with 15s and sometimes in 16s factory. I know that hyundai sells a sports model with 17s but I have never seen a sports trim on the road.
