I rented a US spec Elantra a while ago and it's funny how thin of a sheet metal our PKDM Elantra uses compared to the exact same xar in US spec. The US version has an actually heavy bonnet whereas the local one flexes with your hand on the hood. Yet our local version still gets worse fuel figures

I got black in 25 days versus the initial communicated time of 40 days.
Luckily they had received the invoice as well so I got the invoice alongside the car.

Any idea as to which PPF brand is being used in the market? A chinese superior one or by some renowned manufacturer?

Additionally Keep in mind the fleet versions for rental companies are cheaper versions as well comparing the regular models for sale at showrooms.

Elantra here is fully imported and just assembled here, I doubt that Hyundai is making special Pakistani spec kits using a thinner sheet of metal instead of their standardised practice. What you noticed is probably psychological.

I am aware that our industry imports these panels but USDM cars are specifically made heavier to comply with stricter US NCAP measures. Our local Elantra may have the same weight as a Korean but it's still physically lighter than an USDM, which is funny because American brands themselves still manage to build literal trash.

Typical desi way of "gaari ko tak tak ungli se maar kar k check karna k kesi quality hai".

You didn't measure the weight. You didn't measure the flexibility either.

You should know that bodies of cars today are designed to be flexible and malleable, not hard and rigid.

I believe being in engineering and having crashed a few cars i would be more than aware of how crumple zones work.
Also idk if you have heard of this but there is this space age technology on humans called "arms" that can usually feel the weight difference by lifting the hood instead of that stupid tak tak and yes it is much less flexible if you push your hand in the middle of the hood

And i never said it's a Panzer tank, it's still a crappy lil Hyundai

All USDM go through crash testing.. so, we have an actual "SCIENTIFIC" data available beside the "TOUCH and FEEL". I think scientific data is more accurate / appropriate for comparison and vehicle worthiness.

Yes, it's heavy and look very solid, I checked CBU unit.

Its weight is around 1050 kgs , which probably is heavy for its size.

Its auto varient is a gas guzzler indeed but the manual is doing not too badly , 14 in city and 16 17 on long with AC.
