What a day out, I was pre-comitted in the morning, so joined a bit late, but it was fun all the way. Lots of IJCians and lots of friends n Pakwheelers. Rawat simply has too much potential for offroading, atleast for now. As usual plenty of stucks and towouts, and a few nearly sideways tilt topples that didn't happen..........................Noman would tell you more about that!
Saeed Bhai brought his TLC100, and it got bogged down in a muddy dip and attempts to get it out, got the front and rear spoiler lips ripped and when the front bumper nearly came-off, it was decided to remove the front bumper completely by un-screwing, which you will see lying in my daala is some of the pics, The TLC 100 does look one visious beast without front bumper etc!
As usual Zeb took the honours of attempting and creating new tracks, which seemed impossible on first........... second or even 3rd look. Zeb has the real Jiggraa for attempting these! Once or twice I thought he was just going to a real steep section just for show-off and photo-op, but a bit later he emerged over the top and all one could say was Dayummmm!!!!!!!!!! :-#:o Ershad's famous red KZ40 was not far behind and so was Dr Arifs yellow Jeep. Mr President himself was playing cool with peeli pari and letting the boys play with their toys!
Noman8FF's little Suzuki Peiinn.............yup thats the new name for LJ50;) was at its best, with its front diff locks it was a go anywhere machine.
There was a alot of other action going on, but with so many vehicles at different parts of track it was difficult to keep track of all the action. My camera clicks were limited, as I was late and after that I was initially towing-out the stuck and later waiting for being towed out. Towing out a switched -off NPP hanging from the side of steep track was not an easy task, but with a lot of wheel spinning, screeching n growling MTs sound it was eventually done by two 4X4s in parallel, Zebs 1KZ wrangler and Dr Sbs UAZ! Thankyou both. There was some issue with NPP fuel supply, it shut off on steep incline and and we slipped back into a rock, so it was stuck and no amount of pedal thumping and cranking got it started, so Mani n me, just ate shawarma and sipped water, waiting for others to do the hard work!
Afterwards, Zeb had arranged a zabardast bbq of afghani tikkas at his factory which was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The weather the surroundings/ mahol were top class! Clear sky with stars , lush garden for walking barefoot n all! Unfortunately as everyone got so engrossed in tikka eating that no pics were captured there! The Tikkas were followed by dollaps (at least for me) of yummy kheer! Once aging many thnx Zeb.
Thankyou all for making it wonderful day out!
