Bhai i have yamaha junoon that too is all plastic, bike ko kuch bhi nahi hota jab tak accident na ho... My bike had a minor accident in which a cd70 guy who was trippling couldnt stop and hit me... He hit my back plactic cowl over the back light... Brand new bike thi tab... Got a deep scratch of 2,3inches but nothing broke although the hit was hard enough to push my bike 2,3 meters ahead...
2nd incedent was an accident with another biker going at 40-50 speed.. Similar to a T-bone accident. The front mudgaurd received a hair line crack only. Fixed it with elfy and it worked fine.
3rd was a proper accident which sent me to hospital too, front mud guard broke into pieces and was replaced with a non genuine one from the market.... Price was just 300Rs.
After that incedent the rear cowl also developed plastic vs plastic noise, took to car bumper repair shop he repaired the broken plastic by melting with heat. And vibrations and sounds were further stopped by putting some packing.
A cd70 fell on my bike, standing in a parking and its front mudguard got a hole in it by force. No noises though, just a broken piece from it. Whole mud gurad was replaced with a genuine one for 600Rs recently.
This all happened in 3.5+ years... Traffic men kharay kharay khudi sey chezen utar utar k nahi girten bhai... There ought to be a hard hit on them.. These are made from same ABS plastic as car bumpers are made from...
Now the rear cowl is again making noises and a repair or replacement is due... Whole cowl might just cost me 1000-1200Rs at max.
Honda deluxe's quality is better than junoon... If you take care of ur bike, its no problem. All modern bikes have plaatic parts. Why do u want old school stuff?
People are recomending deluxe because its of good quality... Cg125 is no longer the same quality ride it used to be. Hard suspension, plenty of engine knocking, also a khatak noise at gear changing has been reported. Although still its a decent option quality wise.... Thats the overall condition of biking sector. Quality has been much reduced im everything... There was a time when bikes were japan assembled, people didnt even know what a suspension repair is? Does suapension even require reparing? 15-20 years people used to enjoy their ride after which if somthing happened to suspension they used to replace whole suspension... No concept of repair.
Tires fitted used to be of yokohama japan and there were no punctures, tire would go bald from the outer side but used to be fully clean from inside...
The thing is if u can spend money then get some quality stuff... Good quality bikes are only 2 in the market. Suzuki gd110 and Honda deluxe. (Not as good as japan assembled times but atleast as good as they used to be 10-12 years before)
Still u can go for honda 125 simple... Rp i.e. Ravi piaggio storm 125 is also a great option but again plastics and resale issue is there.
