Another thing to consider is that Cerato globally has 1.6 litre NA, 1.6 turbo and 2.0 NA engines available. To compete with Civic and Corolla 1.8, the 1.6 will be under-powered, 1.6 Turbo will have the turbo problems of being too sensitive to the fuel quality and requiring more maintenance, and 2.0 will be expensive due to higher tax bracket. Being under-powered will matter against Civic and Corolla, and some people will complain about it. I feel 2.0 will be great but annual tax and maybe withholding tax and registration will be more expensive.
And I agree with bringing an entry-level crossover, the way Sportage and Tuscon have created their own segment in our market, a smaller SUV will certainly sell it seems.
