As the car ages, sensors become old, "lazy", "laggy" and increasingly inaccurate. The key to high mileage is a super efficient oxygen sensor, a good MAP sensor and a super clean air intake system; PLUS, Solid engine block ground connections and chassis ground connections (very very important! Just because a ground connection is tight doesn't mean it's good. It should be completely corrosion free. Bad ground connections introduce signal noise which can destroy car mileage by distorting sensor output signals and sometimes even throw error codes for various sensors). Plus the right engine oil. I run 5w30 mobil 1. Thicker oil means less mileage. Plus, my car has a stock thermostat and Toyota Red Long Life coolant so my engine doesn't run cold (automatic fan, no jugaars). I just spent PKR 34k on brand new MAP sensor, brand new Oxygen sensor and a brand new heater core. Plus, my car runs a Duet compressor with exact amount of freon by weight as required by service manual and it was evacuated and filled at home by me, plus a brand new ac condenser. Overcharged or partially clogged ac system can also kill your car's mileage as ac takes "load". All of my car's maintenance work is done at home in my garage by me personally. How did my car attain this insane mileage, you can figure it out now. Not to forget, my car has a new fuel filter and i run it on 60-40 mix of premium and high octane. @abid110
