AOA all,
I am planning to buy a car for the daily commute of my wife, which is around 10-12 km a day in the city.
I have two options first alto vxr 12/12 model and second Liana 2007-08 model. What are your suggestions keeping in mind the reliability of the car?

alto vxr - my vote - considering reliability/rough use/women driver/nature of issues/frequency of problems/maintenance. i have owned alto and liana for over 7-years each so can comfortably confirm you.

If bhabi can drive a sedan, then go for Liana. A well maintained Liana never gives trouble, has excellent airconditioning and heater, has a soft comfortable ride and looks better.

Salam to all the brothers in Liana fan club. Can some one guide me about few things as there are many experienced liana users here. I recently swapped liana m13 to m15 japanese engine.
1. I did'nt change it's wiring and ECU, i.e. M15 engine is still running on old 1.3 wiring and ECU. Is it ok or it's going to be an issue for me? Do i need to change wiring and ECU for better performance or is it ok if i do'nt change them?
2. Car is running very smoothly, but i've noticed one thing, (i don't know if it's an issue or not) but when im driving at a speed when RPM is above 3500 or 4000 and if i press clutch, the RPM straight away drops to 800. Is it an issue and do i need to look into it?
3. Engine starts to sounds alot when i cross 90 km/h, as if the car wants me to apply 6th gear from somewhere , yani k aesa lgta hae k 85, 90 ki speed pe engine shoor kr raha hae jesa engine ki constant sound hoti hae when engine needs to change to next gear. Kindly guide me in these matter. It will so nice of everyone. Looking forward towards some expert opinion.

All of the things u mentioned above are quite normal.
Rpm instantly falling means iacv is functioning accurately if it doesn't rpm doesn't comes down quickly it get stuck and then come down.
And you don't need to swap wiring or ecu. As it's a map based system with same wiring incase you want to activate vvti then you would have to just change ecu and efi electrician will connect m15a ecu on old wiring.

The things you mentioned means system is good.

So i should not worry to give this new engine a good run on moterway??? I was quite worried due to load sound of engine over 85-90 km/h.

Actually the gear ratios are designed for m13a and we don't have manual gears readily available for m15/18.
M16a has a gearbox its a short ratio one that's even more shorter than this.

So you've to live with that increased rpm thingy and that behaviour of car asking for sixth gear. But its normal no need to worry about anything.

And one thing more, as you have knowledge and hold of these things.
Now engine being swapped, does engine gives performance of 1500 or 1300, as ECU is of old m13.

Actually m series have identical engines with different stroke and bore combos but all of the engines use same ic in ecu. Like this system takes fueling feed from map sensor so if map sensor senses more vaccum it adjusts fueling accordingly. So if you run a 1800 on the same ecu it will have more vaccum fueling will adjust accordingly.

So there's no draw back as I've used all type of ecu on all type of mseries systems. But vvti adds up 1-2 kmpl economy increase on long and 0.5-1 on local so if you need to install vvti you'd have to install a vvti support ecu other than that you can run safely on m13 ecu.

Yes exactly output is of 1500 no matter what you use a 1800 on 1.3 ecu it will pull the output according to engine internals as its a map based system.

Hi Dani bro,
I recently swapped my liana m13a to m15a. The problem I am facing is bad fuel economy. getting 7kmpl in city with AC and 10kmpl on highways. Car don't have catcon.

Got the compression done? As when u swap in a Singapore engine it mostly has bad compression and u get poor economy and sometimes one cylinder is completely shot.
So kindly get the compression done.
