I am a member of IJC, I have a CJ which was army auctioned and I got it rebuilt/restored with a little modifications like 12" wide tyre and rims, a Toyota B series engine with big bore. Running original diffs, original transfer case DANa 300 but changed to 4:1 low max gears, changed the forward gear box to match engine and difss... inshort, If u know about 4x4 specially what u want, do your home work, read up on it in detail, get involved like getting ur hands dirty with the mechanic to understand what and how, it will not let u down, yes it will not be one of those pretentious ‘American - Jap ’ SUV's. If you want to go off-road (and I mean the kind of off-road that would snap an SUV like a twig, then look no further.
These jeeps were and are ment to live, we have 1942 willys in our group restored to its original state and it out performs most of the new American - Jap ’ SUV's.
