Hi everyone,
I’m planning to start a Mehran project with the goal of making it a reliable, comfortable daily driver, not a rushed or rough build. The idea is to rebuild the car properly, with attention to quality, safety, and long-term usability.
Here’s what I have in mind so far:
- Complete denting & painting – fresh rust-free body
- Alto 660 automatic engine swap, with complete ECU and catalytic converter
- Alto A/C and heater setup
- Japanese Mehran Works dashboard
- Aftermarket door panels
- Complete interior redo
- Upgraded braking system
- Rear leaf spring suspension instead of kamani
- Complete suspension overhaul
One important concern: since I’ll be swapping both the engine and transmission, I also want to get the engine number officially updated in the excise record. I’d really appreciate guidance from anyone who has gone through this process.
I’m looking forward to valuable feedback, suggestions, and real-world experiences, especially regarding:
- Feasibility of the 660 auto swap for daily use
- Costs vs reliability
- Legal/excise update process
- Help with sourcing parts and trusted mechanics
Would love to hear your thoughts and learn from the community. Appreciate all the help in advance
