In Electric Vehicles, the AC, motor, and battery share a closed-loop thermal system. When bonnet heat dissipation is poor, heat builds up around the AC condenser and power electronics. This reduces refrigerant cooling efficiency, causes safety overrides that divert cabin AC to cool the battery, and results in weak, lukewarm airflow.
Restricted Airflow: Many EVs utilize sealed, aerodynamic front grilles to improve range, which severely limits natural convective cooling compared to traditional vehicles
Poor heat dissipation in EV bonnet compartments causes the buildup of heat from the high-voltage drivetrain, motor controllers, and HVAC systems. Because EVs lack traditional grilles for engine breathing, insufficient under-hood airflow traps heat, reducing motor efficiency and increasing cabin cooling loads.
Do not know about high-end EVs but EVs under use of the general public in Pakistan are very much having the above said problem. Our local car manufacturers need to use ducts like those used in portable ACs or install something like kitchen hoods as frunks to enhance the heat dissipation.
MG PHEV may also have the same problem.
