AOA guys, hope you're all doing fine!
I wanted to share an incident with you guys, which happened on a fine morning of 27-3-13. It was early morning, my father was driving the car. We were going towards I-9 through Faizabad. The traffic signal in Faizabad was not working so the traffic was being controlled manually. As we got near the signal, the traffic warden suddenly raised his hands towards us. There was a van in front of us, he braked really hard. So did we, but late. The car's brakes were grinding to stop the car but... BAM! We hit the van in front of us. Now before I go any further, I would like to tell you all that my father's age is alot and he's a heart patient, so you all would understand the reaction delay to apply the brakes. My Dad and the other guy got out of the car and saw our displaced left headlight. My Dad was hell frustrated! We both took the cars aside and talked to the traffic warden who was not listening to a word we said. The actual reason we hit the car was because both the brake lights of the van were not working, but the traffic warden didn't care and talked to my father in a very very unacceptable manner. He should've at least listened to what we had to say and talk to us in a manner which would was acceptable according to my fathers age. Now the main reason I posted this thread is to ask, who's mistake is it. Our's or his? After we stopped we double checked his brake lights, and they didn't work. According to the traffic police guy, it was our fault. So what say?
Alhamdulillah there was no major damage, to the car or us.
I have attached the pictures of the damaged area of the car.
