oh that's okay. you've every right to give your opinion here. but as @512a already owns a cultus, this will be a reasonable upgrade considering the fact that alot of JDMs are accidented and unless you don't know a good dealer or self import it, you can get yourself in a problem. in my opinion, the swift is a decent hatchback and i'm sure if vitz would be available brand new, i too would be a proud vitz owner. i own a 660 cc(https://www.pakwheels.com/forums/members-member-rides/197874-my-new-daihatsu-move) but i don't think its a keeper for more than 3 years, which is why i shall be selling it soon.
for people like our potential swift buyer and me who don't know many good dealers , i guess this is the best option.
you buy a swift, you get it's regular maintenance done and that's it.
you buy a used JDM, you first bring a mechanic to check if it's all genuine (the mechanic should also be a very reliable guy otherwise they fool the potential owners by saying that it's genuine and later get commission from the dealer) , then take it immediately to a workshop to get it's oil, oil filter, air filter replaced.
my swifts clutch plate was ruined, it was fixed in 3 hours.
my JDM's a/c compressor needed replacement: it took a week .
yes, i know parts are available in bilal gunj and all, but why get yourself into such a hassle? why not buy a car that can be maintained by suzuki, all parts are available in one place and doesn't take much of your time to maintain it. for people who work and don't have time, swift is a decent hatch. yes, it's not as good as a brand new vitz but i've driven the swift 61,000 kms and it hasn't caused any problems whatsoever. the wheels haven't fallen out, the steering steers in the right direction, when i press the middle pedal the car stops, when i feel like a rally driver it makes me smile when i floor it in corners, when i want to listen to music, i can understand what the guys is singing, the a/c works perfectly.. these are our basic necessities and the swift fulfills them all.
so this why i advise people to buy PKDMs wherever possible (small cars and big luxury cars aren't available so yes, you need JDMS/UKDMS).
