I test drove the new Alto AGS today and was honestly surprised by the cabin space, comfort and overall experience.
So much so that I am almost tempted to swap it with my 2012 XLi. Automatic is a need nowadays and with the promise of good average its very appealing.

Yes, there are unknowns and question marks on durability of AGS transmission etc. But it looks a good deal on the outset.

he guy in suzuki said that it produces 42hp obviously he wouldn't know. I didn't check the specifications as yet. But he did say that this 660cc isn't the same as the jdm , he said they've altered it slightly for the compliance with our fuel and I heard that from other's too.

Congratulations on the purchase. You are right, the new PKDM Alto is ~40 hp. Confirmed this from Pak Suzuki, Technical Manager.

please let me know few things:

How much space is in between the two front seats. What kind of arm rest can be installed. Does imported model comes with an armrest or not?
Does VXR comes with wheel caps & mud flaps? Currently it is available with wagon r shaped wheel caps. Can we get any other shape from suzuki or any after market?
What is the quality of floor matts? do we need to change them or not?

Anyother add ons? which can be added like vanity mirror, etc etc

Technical manager might be wrong . If you meet him again then ask him how was this engine detuned from 54Hp to 40Hp? They merely changed the compression ratio and that affects onlyby 1-2 Hp. Why would they not detune k10b in cultus and wagon r if the fuel quality is so bad here. If they did detune r6a in pkdm alto, then i think it must be by ECU mapping

Yas saar. I have driven every auto civic from 5th to 10th gen and I hate them all
I am not commenting on their durability or how easy/hard it is to service them etc. I am purely speaking on how they feel. And the answer is garbage, including the CVT on the 10th gen.

Everyday the more it drives , it's getting smooth. The jerk i was talking about has improved significantly . Even at 120 the paddle wasn't fully pressed so it would be easy to clock 140 on it.

Will push after it drives 2-3k KMS

yes, dont be too hard on engine during brake-in period. It can be very tempting to push the engine to its limits on empty ring road. You could safely do that after first oil change.

Its certainly more than 40hp considering the speed of 120. Bravo owners cant go over 100 that easily.

There is another theory about understating engine HP; this is done to meet insurance requirements.

Han this makes total sense wasay. M pretty sure..engine is same...i have driven jdm alto..and soon my friends pkdm alto is coming. I can check after driving the pkdm.one
Wasay insurance doesn't come on hp.... atleast never saw any such clause

In other countries, some insurance companies require a certain cc car to be under certain horsepower. They may argue that more HP engines in small cars could lead to accidents hence they will only insure those vehicles that are less likely to get into accidents. Just my wild theory.
