Booked mid december, arrived at dealership on 1st March. Tentative delivery date on website was 31st March. Bank took it's sweet time issuing delivery letter and we finally picked up the car two days ago on 15th March.
Pre booking scenario
I wanted to sell my reborn and upgrade to CXT but when it arrived and the price at which it arrived, I was like nahh... mitti pao for now. Instead decided to buy an other car in addition to reborn.
Initially I wanted a small auto like any JDM but when I did some research they all lacked power, were too small. 2nd option was to go for Vitz/Aqua or FIT maybe, but I felt Vitz no longer makes sense at around 15 lacs for a 1.0 ltr and shit fuel economy used car. Good Aqua/FIT were out of budget at 17/18 lacs.
So finally there was only one choice. A car that could be bought new zero meter with warranty and had basic features like power windows/mirrors, ABS, good AC, good powerful engine, fuel efficient, decent stereo etc and at a reason price... Honda City
You might wondering wait a minute, didn't you want an automatic car, so how on earth Honda City Promatec a fuel efficient car. Yes, it's a gas guzzler really and I am not really a fan of Prosmatec. The only thing I hate in Reborn is it's prosmatec transmission.
While I was wondering what to buy, HBL announced their car loan promotion with 7.5% and 2% insurance. I did some calculations and the deal seemed good, so decided to go with the manual 1.3 Honda City.
I wanted the color Rally Red but family was not so keen, so booked Lunar Silver.
I have driven it only once so far for about 30 kilometers so my initial review is going to be short.
First thing I did, I took it to service station, filled her up and reset the tire pressure to 30 PSI. All tires had 40+ PSI.
Ride quality
Coming from a Civic it definitely feels like a downgrade. You feel the bumps and humps that you wouldn't on a Civic.
Power
It feels powerful. I didn't go above 3K rpm but still it accelerated well with 4 on board. Both engine and transmission are smooth.
Entertainment
The standard clarion cd player seems OK. I hate the navigation Honda offers and I am not a huge fan of a DVD player in the car. I do need a back cam so I am looking for a good Android system so please recommend.
Fuel Economy
It was showing 13.3 when we picked it up from the showroom and now showing 13.1 without the AC. Not bad for the start.
That's it for now.
I will share more info and images later.
Thanks for reading!
