Need Advice on buying Honda City 5th Gen or 6th Gen

Dear Members,
I’m planning to buy Honda city either 5th Gen or 6th Gen. A very neat and clean city 2018-2020 model (5th Gen) will cost me around 37-39 lakhs. While if I raise budget slightly more I can get base model 6th Gen 2021-2022 model. I prefer manual city.
What are the main differences between both Generations in terms of quality, durability, comfort, fuel economy, maintenance cost and longevity.
I will appreciate the candid opinions and sincere suggestions to help me decide the right vehicle.

Aoa. I sold my 2016 manual city 2 months back after driving for 247000 kms and bought a 2026 auto 1.2. Sincerely i feel the 2016 was better in build. Comfort level is same. In terms of power the old one was a lot better (1339 cc vs 1220)

Consider Gli as well. Corolla competes with civic in size and comfort though not in power .But still price will be more or less the same as city.

Thats the corolla grande your talking about that competes with the civic and it has enough power to be faster then oriel civics but its way out of budget for person buying city or gli but keep in mind gli usually asks higher price then city atleast 1 or 2 lac more except if its the 1.5 aspire city your talking about.

New model is much better value for money in my opinion. Old model has gotten weirdly expensive in used market and doesn't justify the price, especially considering new model is only a bit more expensive in used market.

Only advantage of old model over new is fuel economy and that's only if old model is manual, if prosmatec then fuel economy is worse as well. I have experience with both models and new one is way superior in everything.
