But ppl had a similar response when I told them about the price of top of the line Altis back in august 2008
I shared the prices here that Altis fully loaded would be for 18 and everyone said thts too high , impossible but yes when it was launched it was for 1799

Bhai he said 1.6 Gli Auto would be for 21 to 2150
Then told me altis will be launched in 1.6 and 1.8 both
Then finally said 1.6 Auto variant (didn't say Altis or Gli ) would be for 21 to 2150
And Altis Top of the line 1.8 fully loaded for " sarhay pachis se chabbis laakh " according to him
And about altis top of the line I'm sure yehy prices hongy

He gave me the price idea for Gli auto 1.6 variant and top of the line 1.8 altis only
And considering that I was just guessing the price of Xli Automatic 1.6 and manual Gli

If that would be the situation then evry1 will buy civic instead of altis fully loaded!

CIVIC Manual 1.8L costs 20,21,000/-
Gli 1.3L Manual present shape is for 16,79,000/-
In case of new Model, the prices wud increase but not much that the customer starts thinking that its better to buy 1.8L CIVIC instead of Gli
Logically it shud be priced at 18.5 Lac...

It may be a ploy by the dealers. Telling people that the new model will be so expensive to entice customers to buy existing model left over stocks. Afterall they have to clear the existing stock otherwise they lose big time. Especially those who had stocked existing cars. And if the sales tax gets reduced they would end up having committed their own financial suicide.

even Gli auto cannot be for 21-21.5, civic prosmatec without sunroof 2142000/- mein aa jati hai, u think people will go for 1.6 when they can get 1.8 in same price??

Corolla has a very good future and their experts will come up with competitive pricing strategy
I know that u shared what u heard but it wud be better if we share things only that make sense in order to have a meaningful discussion..

Update ::::

1. There is an Xli manual in 1.3 ltr ..same old engine , Xli auto is 1.6 ltr

2. Gli manual , same old engine in manual 1.3 ltr , Gli auto is in 1600cc , same old 1.6 Dual VVTi engine and 4 speed auto

3. Altis is 1.8 ltr Dual VVTi with 7 step CVT , 132 hp engine, No paddle shifters , Single Air bag

4. Additionally there will be a optional accessory package .... available for all trims

5. Immobilizer is available in Altis ONLY !

That old 1.3L 2NZ-FE engine is not used in Corolla in any part of the world except Pakistan. The previous Corolla was underpowered with that engine and now they have offered the same engine in new Corolla which is bigger than the previous one. The new 1.3L Xli/Gli would be way underpowered. Indus Toyota never listen to customers. No immobilizer, no new engine.

Plus you have no knocking issues with this engine on Pakistani fuel
