Suzuki Khyber was a nice car by Pak Suzuki. Very good, solid built quality. The engine is simple yet robust. Amazing road grip and stability. Perfect braking. Ample room. I bought one brand new, still keeping it and it never let me down.
But you have to understand that the car you're buying is 22 years old now. Almost all of its parts are replaced by now. Even the body is showered. It's good that you went for Car Sure report but car of this age need frequent maintenance. If your are willing to learn and spend time and money on this car then you should buy it. But if you get easily fedup, irritated and you hate to spend time in workshops, then you should save some money and buy new Mehran.
For this car, tyres will cost you around 15K.
The air conditioner needs work, you don't know which parts are faulty. If the compressor is faulty along with some other small things, it will cost you around 10K. (kabli compressor, R134a gas and labour etc)
Suspension work (steering, axles, shock absorber, bushes etc): Rs.10K (This amount would seem a bit high but when the suspension is dismantled, you see many parts have completed their life plus machinist labour, mechanic labour and alignment cost at the end)
Gear seals gone. Will cost you around Rs. 6,000/- (Khyber shifter seal is replaced by tearing the gear box down, hence high mechanic labour, plus machinist labour for seals replacement is 1500, plus 3L gear oil for Rs.1650)
Engine oil is also incomplete. If it is leaking, it can be a simple drain bolt or as complex as a rear main seal and timing seals.
Alternator not working properly. What are the voltage ranges? Kabli alternator will cost around 3K with labour.
Coolant is also leaking, which is a serious concern.
Engine overhaul and engine "bana hua hai" is the same thing. However, at one point the report says that engine has noise and at some other point it says engine has no noise. Now engine noise can be as simple as loose tappets and it can also be due to bad crankshaft which can cost you a lot, so Pakwheels report is good but not entirely useful.
After purchase, it will cost you additional Rs. 50-60K approx to get this car run properly. So keep this thing in mind while bargaining.
