Petrol pumps in district Jhang, are selling petrol at an overpriced rate, as per reported by Dawn.
The consistent petrol price hike is the talk of the town, and people are discussing and criticising the government for a huge increase in the prices of oil products. Recently, the Supreme Court has passed an order to lessen the petrol prices to give relief to the local commuters. After the order was passed, the concerned authorities slashed the prices of petrol by PKR 4.
However, despite the Supreme Court's order, the petrol pumps in district Jhang are charging extra PKR 2 from the people for petrol.
The official price of fuel set by the authorities is PKR 95.50, but the pumps are selling for PKR 97.50 per litre under the guise of transportation fare. The locals have protested against this anomaly and appealed to the government, especially Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to take some serious action in this regard.

While on the other hand, petrol pump owners are justifying their actions by saying that they pay an extra transportation fee, which should be paid by oil marketing companies (OMCs).
The local district government, as of now, has not taken any action against the petrol pump owners, who are selling the petrol at a higher price.
Aside from petrol pumps selling fuel at overpriced rates, the Federal Minister for Commerce and Industries, Mian Misbah-ur-Rehman, while visiting Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industries (LCCI), defended the caretaker government’s stance on increasing the prices of oil products in the country.
