Painting the Emblems - Corolla 74

Started with this after a wash

The Alphabets are originaly chrome painted but it fades with time and gets all black.

I had to think of a way of spraying paint only on the alphabets so took a card board (one of a left over wedding card from my own wedding :)) and taped it on top of the emblem

Used a Sketch pencil to get an imprint of emblem on the card

After that i sat down peacefully to cut out the alphabets with paper cutting knife

Near side

Reeated the process of pasting the stencil and painting at Far side and here is the result

Result are not as good as i expected because some of the paint dripped from sides, but not bad for a DIY job

Next time i know how to do it better.

nice DIY. Only it needs cleaning with thinner inside alphabets.
Did you used Silver or Chrome Spray?

silver paint wont stick for long
i hope u preserved the stencil

I know it wont last long, will give it a try again and hopefully learning curve effect will improve the results. Thinking of putting grease on sides rather then making a stencil. it will remove even with paint.

About the card, she brought it herself maybe because it was walima invitation and not rukhsati (u know what i mean :))
