Re-introducing the original Jeep Baltoro: A Pakistan Army scrap auction 1979 CJ7 restoration with redesigned and hand crafted full body re-build:

With a Toyota 2L-TE Motor and a mechanical injector pump running a Toyota transmission and transfer case.

Stock CJ suspension with Monroe shock absorbers and 31' tires on 8' rims with 3.5' offset, Stock narrow track CJ7 differentials.

The soft-top is electronically controlled and conveniently rolls back after removing velcro side panels

The rig was completed 5 years ago and all work was done by local mechanics and denters. Since then its been used as a DD and is surviving weekend off-road treks with the Islamabad Jeep Club (Islamabad Jeep Club - Home)

Yes I have restored this ex-army M151A2-M825, after buying it off a friend who had done the mota mota stuff and got it running, till I got after him to sell.
This is a 1983 model made by AM General Corp. & used to have a 106mm RR gun mounted at the back and through the center while it served in the Army, that is why you see the spare wheel and gerrycan on the sides. Other versions had them at the back like other normal jeeps.

its in england and its a 1.9 diesel manual, the japanese escudo only comes in a v6 petrol but to me its the best value for money suv any1 can buy.
