Mohtaram Devilskreed Sahib,
Pakistan is a poor, underdeveloped 3rd world country. We don't have money even to run our state affairs. So what we do? Go to IMF and World Bank to beg. When giving us loan, these lending agencies tell us to increase the tariffs on electricity, natural gas, petroleum and its products and the list also includes all kinds of taxes. These taxes also include custom duties on cars and everything else. That is why a Honda Accord costs around 9 million rupees. What our elected representatives should do is not drive in a government owned Mercedes when driving in a motorcade. They should go for either a locally manufactured Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic. When a common man, who is paying both direct and indirect taxes, can't own a Mercedes S 600 then his elected representative has no right to drive in such a duty-free Mercedes when going in a motorcade. This is a shame.
