Aslamualaikum Tayyab Bhai ..
May I beg to differ with you .. just a little.
Social forums are like a knife .. depends on how you use it. In the kitchen, it is the most useful tool, but if someone brandishes it in public and loots somebody, then of course, it turns out to be a bad deadly weapon.
I belong to a different age group than most of you. I have layers upon layers of friends and contacts. They are all busy in their lives and careers, and it is literally not possible to stay in touch with all of them .. for obvious reasons.
Facebooks allows us to be withing reach of all of our friends and acquaintances ... like my friends from school, college, general friends, colleagues, foreign friends, training colleagues ... so many categories .. they are all there on the Facebook. Besides, FB allows us to reach out to new friends with common friends. Sharing of photos, videos, and quotable stuff .. that all works very fine with Facebook and Orkut, etc.
So .. at the end of day, it all depends how you use the social forums. Surely, they are addictive ..:)
