On Friday evening after the office, myself and Imran started our journey to Kalam in old trusted Lazzaz. The plan was to stay at Mingora and leave early morning for Kalam.
The distance to Kalam from Isloo is less than 400Kms but due to the miseralbe road conditions, it take around 12 hours to reach there.
@ 10:00 pm we reached Mingora, had dinner and decided to travel further. Ultimately we reached Kalam at 6:00am and were greeted by Dr. Ehsan, Siddque, Mahroz and Nazim Sahib (Gulzada).
Most of the roads after Bahrain is washed out and make shift road is only 4x4 worthy and is good for one vehicle. We wasted aorund 1-1/2 hours due to incoming traffic on narrow roads.
The area is secured by Army, police and paramilitary. All one needs is ID card to travel. There were 3 places where we had to enter our particulars and at the rest of the check posts, hello-hi was the case.
Since all the travelling was done at night, no pictures were taken. We didnot install the softtop so it was bloody cold night driving :).
