I saw ur posts on PW and came to know that ur using 3ct with orignal gear box on ur mb. I have a m38a1 and intend to use the same setup in my jeep. Can u plz answer my following querries.
1- whats the top speed without reving the engine hard. i.e. at 3000rpm
Even if you rev it hard you will get speed of about 85-95 afterwhich the jeep will become unstable. My speedometer is not connected. One thing to note here is that the engine is way more powerful than the gearbox configuration along with the axles. However for offroad this is a great performer. On the highway you will not get top speed.
2- at what rpm does the turbo kicks in.
rpm meter not working.
3- Are there any overheating issues and which radiator are u using.
There are no overheating issues. I had a radiator (japanese) customized to fit in the original radiator casing. New tech in the old frame.
4- In ur post u mentioned that the oil pan touches the front axle and u have modified the oil pan. Can u plz elaborate how u have done it and from where.
Yes the oil pan is modified. I used a toyota 1c oil pan. Now you actually do not need to modify the oil pan as such. You simply replace the oil pan of the 3c with the 1c and the screws will fit exactly in place. However the 'kupi' inside which spits the oil will have to be altered.
5- Anyother alteration except the engine mounts and oil pan you have done or recomend??
Yes get the biggest air flow filter possible. I have still not done a good job at that.
