Come on guys. One must always look at things in totality. There are many people whose livelihood depends on this industry as well. Just simply killing the industry is not a solution. There are also many small and medium sized industries supporting them.
We did not have a problem with local cars as long as they were priced CHEAPLY. Which means until 1.5 years ago. So what we are saying here is that we just don't want to pay so much for the local cars. BUT we will buy them happily if they are cheap.
There are many companies/banks/etc with loaded pockets who are willing to pay the high price and ruin it for the common man. New Toyota was not selling so well, so now the government is buying them for police and all green number plates (your tax money being wisely utilized....ahem..).
We dont want to become a junkyard for used japanese cars either. What has happened to our self respect and dignity. The world is probably laughing at us for buying their garbage and pretending we have achieved something great. WE MUST BUILD OURSELVES FROM WITHIN AND STOP LOOKING AT THE WORLD TO THROW US BONES.
We should boycott all dealers who charge OWN. We should boycott politicians who support them. We should chastise the government for not supporting us. SPEAK OUT. SPEAK LOUD. AND MOST IMPORTANTLY ACT ACT ACT ACT ON YOUR FRUSTATION. BUT DO IT WISELY. DO NOT GET EMOTIONAL. It makes no sense to kill the industry, the basic law of economics should be utilized. Reduce demand, reduce price. START WITH NOT OFFERING HIGH RESALE VALUE FOR USED CARS. People WILL think twice about buying high priced new cars!!!
We just need to come together and reduce the demand until the local manufacturers realize that they need to lower the prices. There is great strength in numbers. But lets not harm our fellow country men and women. Lets work WITH them AND FOR THEM. TAKE THIS MOVEMENT FORWARD NOT ONLY IN THIS BUT ALL AREAS WHERE PAKISTANIS ARE FLEECED BECAUSE OF POOR GOVERNANCE AND MAFIA.
THIS COUNTRY BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN. THAT'S US. NOT THE GOVERNMENT. THE GOVERNEMENT IS A "PUBLIC SERVANT". THEY MUST BE MADE TO REALIZE IT SO THEY WORK FOR OUR BENEFIT AND NOT THEIR POCKETS AND PROTECT THE MASSES. NO ONE CAN STAND AGAINST A WHOLE NATION. BE PROUD OF WHO YOU ARE AND USE YOUR GOD GIVEN RIGHTS, FREEDOM AND LIBERTY (MASHALLAH) TO CLEAN UP YOUR OWN BACKYARD OF ANYONE TRYING TO FLEECE YOU. DO IT WITHOUT HARMING YOUR NEIGHBOURS AND THE INNOCENT. USE YOUR STRENGTH OF NUMBERS. START A MOVEMENT AGAINST PRICE HIKES IN ALL THINGS. MANY POOR PEOPLE WILL PRAY FOR YOU AND BE ON YOUR SIDE. ESPECIALLY ALLAH IS WITH YOU. ONE PERSON CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
