Purchased a 99 khyber in 2014, the car was in good shape so we just go with outside shower. This June 2016, we had done with complete engine overhaul of Khyber.
The issue that I am facing since the purchase of car is that its generator belt get loosen many time (atleast 4), my mechanic tighten it up, but after some months it again get loosed and not charging battery properly, after detailed inspection mechanic changed the genuine belt with after market, as many of the tooth on the belt are broken and not present. after that last month its foundation was broken. which is welded by electrician saying that it is genuine and new foundation will not last long. But on the very next day, foundation again broken from the welded portion which is replaced by new one. now yesterday when i was going through highway, I notice that clock light is very dim inside dashboard and horn is very low. at reaching home I test the battery terminal with voltmeter and it was showing 11.8 volts with smell coming from generator side, Show it to generator wala and he recommended to change belt, so new belt was installed and after that the generator was providing 14 volts using all accessories.
My question is that, can Any one tells me why I am facing loosening of belt and foundation issue again and again. As I am using 65 amp generator in my Khyber. (comes from previous owner). two electrician told me to replace it with genuine khyber generator. but my mechanic told me to stick with 65 amp. and generator wala also does not show any offense for using 65 amp generator. Kindly help me in this matter.
