scheme cleared vehicles have lesser resale. coz everyone THINKS the car came cheap. facts say something opposite for some 2000 plus models. like some said he bought a 2001 corolla for 440 and paid 430 custom duty. registration and some other expenses are separate.
does that sound a good deal? to me, no.
people in car dealing business have their money invested in imported vehicles. how are they going to let the resale improve for nc cleared cars? never.
and it is a proven fact that majority cars that have been cleared are average vehicles and not in mint condition. a 99 model vitz, fresh cleared was offered 4 lacs rs in rawalpindi market.
a 2003 corolla, fresh cleared was offered 8.75 lacs rs in lahore in johar town market. as per owner, the car costed 11.25lacs without registration.
now, registration is also a big panga. as per some confirmed and unconfirmed rumors, all cars are supposed to go through the lab test before registration. a lab test always decreases value.
another rumor is that the car will be registered in the same province where it was cleared. majority people got the cars cleared from KPK and Balochistan but pere residents of Punjab. If, the rumor happens to be true and the cars have to be registered in the two provinces, the owners will get very despressing offers in Punjab.
SUVs had some margins. the other major profit makers are the people who bought the cars from dubai and japan and got them cleared here.
