As i already told you all that i recently brought dlx swift. So should i change the oil on first 1000km or 5000km?Which engine oil should i use?I am getting 11kmpl now. Will it increase after 5k km service?

if you are talking about 0-meter swift, you cannot really do much with it at your own will.. just follow the service manual and suzuki dealership to avoid getting your warranty void.
if you are talking about used swift, don't wait for any kilometers, change oil immediately after buying a used car.
by the way 11 kmpl is already quite decent for this car : ) don't expect wonders...it might go a kilometer or so higher in number !

I have seen listigns of swift on pakwheels and olx and in alot of cars they don't have a cap on water reservoir bottle. Is it some sort of issue or what?

No there is a cap on water reservoir

since it's reservoir bottle pipe connects with the radiator from the bottom of the reservoir bottle, so most of the ppl don't bother getting a new cap fixed on the reservoir bottle : ( and it also shows that the owner is not very keen in keeping his car top notch !

Interestingly i m the one u r looking for. In February this year after almost 7years i shifted from zic 5w40 to Shell Ultra 5w40 but at the same changed spark plugs as well. So cant tell whether it was effect of plugs or shell 5w40 that i felt a considerable improvement in acceleration and fuel consumption. Now about a week ago i have shifted from shell to Caltex pro ds 5w40. But its too early to give any comment will be able to clearly answer ur question after week or 2. But as of inner feeling i think i am more inclined towards shell. Zic i think is overhyped

HAHAHAHAH glad to have found u , i too have a soft corner for shell , and i’ve never tried zic as i don’t feel comfortable with all the copies going around . I shifted to SGO 5w30 but the manual clearly says that for higher temps 10w40 is preferable. So im planing to switch again for the final time for 5w40 as living in karachi with all the high temps and dust i think 5w40 will provide better protection and then global warming is real too so temps will rise . If after a week or so u could update on how you feel about caltex pro ds 5w40 it’ll be really helpful as i just want to stick to one grade and brand for the rest of the engine life , it’s around 35k driven and the oil change is due . Secondly buying shell helix ultra 5w40 from any fuel pump would be ok or not because i know there r many fakes going around , and is there a visible difference between fake and the original product ?

Buy only from lubricant mart at plaza its most reliable shop and u will find a difference in 1000s or atleast 100s from the outside market
Will try to update about Caltex pro ds after a week or so let me calculate fuel average @itzahmd

got the same problem with my Swift 2020 go to Suzuki Raiwind but could not get any idea from where water is coming. 2 weeks ago travel from Lahore to Multan in very heavy rain but this time there was not water under the carpet of drive side.my car is under Warrantee but dont know what to do now as i have tried everything from washing to AC and heater pipes checking.

By the way just got the price quote from lubricant mart today
Shell Ultra 5w40 4L Rs 3900/-
Caltex Pro DS 5w40 4L 4200/-.
Zic 5w40 4L 5000/-

And u check the price from petrol pumps or retailers i am quite sure it will be this price +1000rs

One more thing that zic and caltex are imported whereas shell is local
And this imported thing is just a useless argument as i believe.

okay, there are few things you need to check.
1: check if your car's cooling fan is working properly, spinning at full speed or not ?
2: change your radiator cap. worn out radiator cap can also cause loss of radiator water and heating up of engine.
3. Check if car is reducing water ? If yes, check all the hoses and pipes, is there any leak or radiator cap is faulty.
4. i doubt that radiator is not properly serviced. where did you get it serviced from?

My Swift was heating up and reducing water,
it ended up that radiator cap was faulty and there was a minor leak underneath the radiator pan.
mechanic did a good job and gave me guarantee of his job, he changed the cap and cleaned radiator and then changed upper and lower pans of radiator as well. Alhamdulillah I took car Lahore - Sialkot, and Lahore - Sheikhupura ... water level is intact, car is not heating up , so i am happy with his job.

Was there any changes in performance like handling, acceleration, fuel mileage, and suspension?

I live in karachi. Yes Radiator reducing water but i just replaced radiator cap 0.9 bar Japanese made last week

Fan is working only when ac is on. Otherwise not turning on at all.

Car overheats when im in city traffic but perfectly fine when im on highway
