TATTOO,forbidden or nt,confusion

as the title says,i heard from alot of ppl saying that tattoo iz forbidden in islam,iz it true?but still i see alot of muslims who got tattoo,even in pakistan itz a trend nw,if tattoos are forbidden thn,wt abt name tattoos or words 1?are thy forbidden too?

as for muslims getting tattoos and stuff, well i must say that there are several other things too which the so called "muslims" shouldn't be doing as muslims, so you just cannot justify your acts and/or omissions by saying that so and so who happen to be muslims are also doing the same.

There is some difference of scholarly opinion as to the reason why they are forbidden. It was said that it is because they are a form of deception, and it was said that it is because it is a way of changing the creation of Allaah, as Ibn Mas’ood said – which is more correct and also includes the first meaning. And it was suggested that what is forbidden is only that which is permanent, because that is changing the creation of Allaah; as for that which is not permanent, such as kohl which used for adornment by women, that is permitted by the scholars. (Tafseer al-Qurtubi, 5/393).

Instead of getting a permanent tutto, buy some mehndi, mix some acid to it to make it Strong and then stick it to your maal, let it dry, after a few hours your maal will shine in red colour !

I got two tatoo's, one on each arm. Luckily I had them made when I didn't know if they were Halal or Haram.
