Actually it took us a good time getting around to understanding it, but nothing much American about the UZi. Everyone gets too caught up on the V8, thanks to the outrageous intimidation factor, but the reality is that whole package works (at least on the Cholistan sand). The UZi is (or rather was) a true Cholistani breed of a race horse in the tradition of the local jimnys!
Ahsan Ejaz is a top notch cholistan driver and NN is no stranger to the sand. Both Nissans have more suspension on one wheel than UZI's four, have LWB advantage, are all guns blazing into CP8 and have more aggressive stops at the CP. All to buy 10 secs off the UZi in 3 minutes of the video overall with the last minute hanging in balance! Nevertheless, winning is winning, right Losers will whine about had I deployed third and had I had this or that. I am all OK with all that
Anyhow, in the end, what matters most to me perhaps is the salutes coming from Jimny riders as they passed us on the way to the finish. I did not recognize anyone but two or three of them waved us their thumbs ups which I consider as the biggest and perhaps the only real bragging right I will take away: To have earned the respect of the Jimny drivers!
