Thanks DeeDee! Firstly I really meant it when I said that it is amazing how you guys do it with your mogs without any second drivers. I can appreciate the difference because this time I was in an SUV with 3 people sharing the driving and compared to a Jeep with a dedicated driver it was a world of difference in driver fatigue on return! Not to be misunderstood though, as there was many tracks here where a good leaf sprung Jeep would whip any modern SUV in many respects, ease of driving and driver/passenger fatigue notwithstanding.....
On Nanga Parbat, theoretically the two shot hypothesis is correct, but as you are aware the Nanga Parbat normally veils its nanganess in a thick cloud cover. On this trip there was perhaps more probability of seeing naked parees at Deosai rather than catching a glimpse of the killer mountain. You could not even see the tops of the mountains in the valleys most of the time, such were the cloud and fog conditions, and we were lucky to avoid the rain at Deosai and have good weather. That said, it was not ideal conditions for photography as the light was unpredictable and cams were mostly running in sport mode from the rear seat, as my father had kicked into rally mode sometime after Naran
