Thanks for feedback, Ansar. I'll try to show you one of the very basic impediments to this idea of yours.

If you take a look at the picture above, you'll see that the shock tower actually sticks out from the side of the body. This is what gives the car such a lovely, wide track...but more importantly, it also prevents us from having a closed side-panel all the way. Such a panel would only be possible, from the edge of the firewall up to the edge of the shock tower. This COULD possibly be done up by adding front fender flares that wrap around the shock tower...but I seriously think that the overall effect achieved and the effort involved to achieve it, don't connect up. Then again, at some point in time, I may be bunging a V12 into this car...which would require chopping up the side-panel all over again. Also, At some point in time, I would want to drive the car without any hood at all...which would render the side-panels redundant again. The concept you put forwards is a great one...just not suited to the ground realities of the vehicle.
