Thanks a lot for your words of appreciation
What i guessed from your Question is that you asking about MM(Muzaffargarh-Mianwali) Road which is definitely the shortest possible link between Islamabad and Karachi in-terms of distance and in-terms of time too(unless and until the M4 completes). One other alternative is Muzaffargarh-Khushab road which seems on map even shorter than this road.I once travelled on that road in my car and found it no shorter than MM road, moreover it was in pathetic condition. If one is coming from Karachi, after crossing Bahadurpur Chowk(RYK) and Zahir Pir leave the N-5 at Taranda Muhammad Panah and take the leftside link going to Alipur-Muzaffargarh.I m not sure about that section but after Muzaffargarh its in pretty good shape. Mianwali-Talagang=100km. Talagang-Balkasar interchange(M-2)(30km).Balkasar-Islamabad Toll Plaza(~100km). We bikers are not allowed on Motorway so after Talagang we either take Pathankot-Fatehjang road or Chakwal-Mandra road.
Now about facilties on this road: Incase you have to stay en-route then there are some good hotels in Muzaffargarh city, near Chowk Azam and Mianwali. Some reasonable resturants before you enter Balkasar interchange. But avoid traveling Taranda-Muzaffargarh section in night time. Once NATCO had a bus service from RWP-KHI that used to ply from this route. Most of the traffic on this route is trollers so beaware. This road is a driving pleasure and offers good views. Some good music running on your player and you going through Thal desert and mountains of Musa Khel and then eventually to Potohar area. To me its better than the conjusted areas like Jhang, Pindi Bhattian etc. I would say you should give it a try once
