Throttle Body Service now having issue of RPM

Last weekend me and @ehsan4808 worked on my Rolla SE Saloon as the engine was missing throttles while running on petrol.

Therefore we serviced the throttle body washed it with petrol and then managed to fit it back. Now the issue is my car's RPM is stable at 2000 on idle. When i start the car the engine light turns on for about 5 to 10 minutes and the RPM is constantly at or around 2.

The missing is still there though.

Try resetting the ECU by disconnecting battery terminals.

Did that! Unhooked the terminals for the entire night and in the morning put them on and started the car, kept on idle for 15 mins but the RPM still didnt come down.

if your throttle body is having IACV(idel air control valve) that may b stuck....take it out and lubricate it with veryyyyy thin engine oil...

i have a similar issue with my mazda carol. i got the throttle body serviced. it was very dirty. but now i have weird problem. the car starts better , ac is much better now and the rpm are normal till i put it in gear. its an automatic. now when i release the brake the car crawls at a much high speed and by not even touching the accelerator the car gradually keeps accelerating and shifts in to second gear and then third and reaches at constant speed of about 40km/h. even though i dont use the accelerator that much as the car does that for me but i have to use brakes more frequently than normal which would wear away brakes quickly. again when i put the gear in park rpm drops to normal. there is no difference in rpm with ac on or off.

This thing happens with me when I clean throttle of my baleno. The RPMs comes to normal after driving for 300~500 km in few days.

For manual car try to keep rpm down by putting car in 1st gear at idle and slightly release clutch (at traffic signals).

First of all, I am not suggesting to do it forever.
I got and applied this solution after some research over the internet and help TPS relearn the threshold values, which it loses when car is operated without airfilter during throttle clean.

Try to do a bit research before suggesting anything. That would result in premature clutch wear

yaar i have the same problem. i clean the TB and the IACV now the rpm needle is going up and down up and down up and down. what should i do plzzz suggest me a gud or best mechanic in ISL or Rwlpindi.

1. I sure hope you didn't remove the throttle position sensor (TPS). Because if you did, you might have disturbed it's calibration.

2. Give the car engine one whole warm-up cycle through idling - from starting at cold temperature to fully warming the engine (without pressing accelerator) till the cooling fan kicks in. Do not switch on any accessories during that time and don't use blower or AC or headlights either. Once fully warm, switch off the car, wait a couple seconds, then start up the car again (without pressing accelerator). I've used this strategy to make the ecu 'learn' its idle values - which it sort of does revises every time car is started.
