URGENT HELP & ADVISE NEEDED. I have a 1.0 1KR-fe 2010 Belta with original 68,000km on it. I was out and the car was not in use for a good 7 months with a last oil change in Jan'18.
Now I started using it as a second car again. Oil light popped up on a short drive and it scared me. I checked oil gauge and it seemed fine. Took it to a mechanic (a good friend uses him in Karachi FB Area). We opened up the top cover and it had loads of sludge in it......see pictures.
Mechanic suggested that oil pump is choked, and may need to be replaced. However the recommendation and action we took was to completely wash top n bottom of engine with kerosene oil, minus the head/ block and ring pistons etc part as that would mean an engine over haul. Yesterday that was done. Oil pump and its filter cleaned with Liqui Moly and then installed back. The Oil plug was also cleaned. Pictures below:
Above activity only helped reduce noise and some minute vibration. However the oil light is still constantly on. Mechanic packed the engine and returned me the car saying that we either have to completely open and clean the engine or Replace it. If we run the car like this, it may result in engine seizure.
Whats your suggestion? Way forward I should take? Replace engine with 1.3 (as recommended) or get it over hauled? or is there a better diagnosis and remedy. Car is with me standing in garage. Its something i want to retain for a good 2-3 years from now. Its a overall good condition car.
