Toyota Fortuner Officially Launched by IMC in Pakistan

guys i got to know from Toyota Central guy bout Revo diesel 3.0d4d engine going to phase out by fall of 2017 and Toyota Indus is going to bring new diesel engine 1GD 2.8d4d same as Thai spec Revo engine. Can anyone confirm on this new diesel engine? Also heard this new engine will be available for fortuner as well.

I have also heard that Indus is going to introduce 1GD in Revo. Cant say if it is 100% correct.

I booked in start of Feb. For the past 2 weeks I haven't been able to check online invoicing status which was perfectly viewable before that and now it says "no result found"

According to dealership half quota of previous month is pending so delivery delay according to them would be 2-3 weeks as my booking was the first out of June quota originally and they tentatively said start June delivery. Their official statement is technical difficulties due to some strike or so. But unofficial news and rumours say they have prioritised massive orders of hilux from CPEC or Government.

Lets see what happens. Would be great if its home before Eid

No idea if 3.0 is being discontinued or not but I did hear from my source that they will keep 3.0 because tax slabs are same for 2.8 and 3.0

Though he isn't that high up in the chain at Indus but his logic was "agar company ne yeh engine dena hota pehlay hi de detay aik saal baad na change kartay"

However he did mention that Fortuner with same Diesel engine is also in the pipeline and they plan to launch it soon. I can't say how authentic this is, just sharing what I heard.

Why is it taking so long? My cousin booked his fortuner in first week of March and he got it in the end of April. I thought only Revo is taking times as 1500 revo was booked for army/govt. officials and some for police. I got my revo last week as it was booked on first week of Feb.

Every dealership has different delivery period as at Indus Motors they have given monthly quotas to all of them. So his dealership might have less orders than other dealership. Most dealerships in Lahore had 3-4 months time back then. Even as of now some dealerships are offering September delivery and some are offering November.

Also I guess apparantly Revo and Fortuner are made at same assembly line.

So depends which dealership its booked from and what quota is available with that specific dealership.

Well i heard Toyota Thailand has stopped the production of 1kd 3.0d4d engines.

EDIT: just confirmed from my source its going to come in new diesel engine after August or in Sept and those who will book revo now will be getting in new 1GD engine.

Not sure about Fortuner, i dont think they will launch together as Fortuner sales is good in petrol engine.

Crossed batakundi river at its peak even locals were ... Mighty fortuner with full family and luggage - its ground clearance and wading capability is exceptional ... Prados were shy and waiting at the bank while fortuner moved up to babusar... Will share pics and video...as internet here is 2g only.

Babusar is closed but Fortuners can attempt with ease.. All fortuner owners are welcome... Prado walas are recommended to wait ... Comparison do come in when Fortuners and prados are on the same track...

Batakundi and Babusar pass are open for few weeks now, for 4x4s. Only issue at Babusar was the machinery working on cleaning was blocking the passage at some points.

There is a temporary bridge already in place at Batakundi so even sedans can go over with ease. And same for Babusar as tarmac is ready to welcome anyone.

People on bikes hv been crossing mighty Batakundi and mighty Babusar on their not so mighty 2x1 motorbikes without LSDs and diff-locks even when these places were not officially open.

Term 'open' is used when management thinks that all intended types of vehicles including low clearance sedans can pass thru with ease.
