I lived in Pakistan for nearly all my life, worked on cars in Pakistan, FYI - I was one of the people such car owners contacted in Pakistan when parts/services were needed (really good money for me) - after when their favorite mechanic had done their "haath ki safaayi" on them.
Its not a new phenomenon, its pretty old now. There have been many cases of "unique" cars being imported in Pakistan and all of them have suffered - it is partly due to the available knowledge base and partly due to the owner wanting to shortcut everything to spend less on running.
It goes way back - accordingly told to me by old timers that even in the 50s with the armstrong siddleys with the preselect gearboxes - those cars worked till they were good, then they were trashed due to lack of support in parts and service. What you have is a car that requires updated dealer support to properly perform work on the car.
Im not against hybrids, I am against the orphan auction cars from Japan, their downtime/service ratio is terrible as if you need some complex job on it - you have to order and wait for parts to arrive and hope that the mechanic knows the correct procedures, tolerances and fastener torque specifications as their local support is nil and you hope you dont get a bad new part as you would have to run through hoops and customs to get it returned. For me not knowing Pakistan, you yourself can see lathe machinists grind off valve stems, lap shims etc to set clearances without giving a damn that they are case hardened parts. You yourself can witness "general overhaul at 50,000 kms" because mechanics say its weak without actually diagnosing it.
Now if you claim that I know nothing of Pakistan - then thats your choice - doesnt affect me.
If im in Pakistan and Indus motors announces that they will sell, warrant and service toyota hybrids, I will buy it, and sell it right at the end of its warranty period. WHY? my elder brother in UK had a lexus RX400h - it ran out of warranty and he needed a repair on it. The costs were astronomical to say the least.
