Don't have more days brother, the schedule is as tight as stated but still I believe I can make it to deosai.

Please share if you have any knowledge regarding jeep fares and travelling time from astore to deosai and back including all important spots.
Any contact details of jeep wala would be great.

Road is not in good shape but you can take ur car till kalam. i have seen many there.

I hope everyone is in good health.

I am planning a tour from isb to muzaffarabad in the last week of feb 2016 with my wife.

I will be on my own car InShaAllah, but i have never travelled before in these areas so i have few questions in my mind.
Which is the best and safe route from isb to muzaffarabad as i have checked from google maps the one is from kohala i think and the other one is mentioned there from korakaram highway. Since i have heard and saw some korakaram highway photos its a great road. So wwhat you guys would suggest which route should i choose.

Secondly i will stay 1 night at pc muzaffarabad than i have planned to visit shogran (or you guys tell which places can i visit during these days and ofcourse the safe road as i am little confused from the steapy roads and dangourous curved mountains so the road till shogran is good or not.

I have drove my car till murree back.in november and i had no issues with that road.. so pls comfirm that road towards muzaffarabad will be same as the isb to.murree road or little bit dangerous..

One more thing, someone please confirm which hotels are having bath tubs in those areas i.e. isb to muzaffarabad to shogran.. as i have checked from pc muzaffarabad they are having the same

would Hunza be accessible at this time on our own transport with family? I was thinking to visit Gilgit, Hunza etc... If it is accessible during these days then what other places can be visited on my own car? I will be taking Ae101 so need suggestions...

1. Here is some confusion for me as I have been advised to stay at Besham for a night, which makes me to drive through N35. Is it equally safe and maintained highway as N15 or not?

1. I was thinking leave from Lahore at midnight and reach till morning at continue my journey towards Hunza. in short continuous driving till Hunza before sunset. is it possible? I can drive for this much long easily. In this case I can follow the blue highlighted way.

2. Other option is to take a break at Abbotabad, I have been visiting this city in my childhood and I like the atmosphere. Spending night and going to the same Blue highlighted road would be the plan then..

Now kindly suggest which road to follow. I will make my mind accordingly then

I was also thinking of going straight to
Day 1 : Muzaffarabad, Pir chinasi and stay in PC
Day 2: Hunza, Stay Serena Hotel
Day 3: Visit surrounding areas and back to Hunza
Day 4: Return to rawalkot
Day 5: Banjosa lake and surroundings and reach Abbotabad or stay in Rawalkot
Day 6: Spend day in Islamabad and comeback in night.

Is it alright or I am wrong at somewhere?

Dear Irfan,
At present only option to Hunza via road is KKH. So, you have bound to travel on N-35 as Naran/Babusar is closed till may. You may take a night stay at besham or chillas as per your convenience and driving stamina.
Travel to hunza is a very long and much hectic travel journey, so it is advised to concentrate only at the destination. In this case you have to leave kashmir(pir chinasi, banjosa,,,) area for any other time or keep them at the end of Hunza tour.
In Hunza, you can visit, Altit/Baltit fort, Ata abad etc

So referring to the map image that is confusing you I guess,
The N15 option is not available as told..
The dotted path with Besham in the way is the only option you shall opt.
Your route from Lhr will be:
Lhr > iSd > abbotabad > besham > chillas > hunza

Where Lhr to Besham is 10hrs drive
Besham to chillas is 5hrs drive
Chillas to Hunza is about 3hrs drive.

Regarding safety and all, Besham to chillas road is not in a good shape but you have to face that.
You shall reach chillas before sunset, as advised usually so manage your itinerary accordingly.

So when with family, you shall consider driving to hunza in one stretch.

As for the Pir chinasi & banjosa/rawlakot, this does not fall in your route to hunza so you have to put them together either at the start of at the end of your hunza tour.

If you want to spend some time at islamabad, I think you can manage it at the start of your journey like this:

Lhr > iSd > abbotabad
And next day:
Abbotabad > Besham > chillas > hunza (still abt 11hrs drive)...

Thanks for replying bro can you please tell why N15 isnt available? and if I go from Besham then I will still connect to N15 from Chilas, right? I can leave early morning to go straight to Gilgit. can you suggest me some places to visit from Gilgit as I would be staying in Serena Gilgit. or do you suggest to stay in Serena In in Hunza? or just couple of nights at both hotels to visit nearby places? so kindly tell me what nearby places can be visited from both locations or should I stay at only one place top visit all the nearby possible places?

One thing more, does it get really dangerous to visit Hunza with family on your own conveyance; any chance of robbery, or sectarian killing?

No security threat at all... These are the safest areas of Pakistan.
Just as a precaution, dont plan to drive after evening in mountainous areas. Otherwise, no security issue what so ever.

Can i travel from chilas yo gilgit after sunset?

From Raikot Bridge to Gilgit, it is no problem. But from Chilas to Raikot, it is better to drive before sunset. It is hardly 40-60 minutes from Chilas to Raikot.

Ok bro thanks a lot I'll be leaving at 4am inshaAllah to reach abbotabad and stay there.... then directly to hunza inshaAllah I am thinking to leave at 5 am from abbotabad to reach hunza before sunset or at least gilgit.

That will give you ample time to explore abbotabad as well, if you don't want it then you can relax urself while leaving Lhr.
You may leave Lhr by 8/9am and drive straight to abbotabad in max 7hrs and enjoy ur dinner.

Will give you enough time to rest before the long journey ahead...
